According to ANAD (National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders) 9% of the U.S. population, or 28.8 million Americans, will have an eating disorder in their lifetime. I treat individuals struggling with poor body image and eating disorders including:
- Anorexia
- Orthorexia
- Bulimia
- Binge Eating
- AFRID
- Body Dysmorphia.
You deserve compassion and kindness.
To provide the most optimal treatment, I collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including registered dieticians, physicians and treatment centers, should a client need a higher level of care.
Psychotherapy treatment is essential to manage food behaviors and thoughts. Clients become successful in managing these difficult thoughts and self-perceptions by learning positive coping tools to combat them. An understanding of their history can help clients understand the root causes which led them to disordered eating.
"I am so grateful for my time working with Libby. I struggle with depression and an eating disorder and often find it very difficult to talk with people about it, but Libby was always extremely kind, compassionate, and caring and made me feel incredibly safe and understood. She even helped me seek out a higher level of care when needed and guided me through the terrifying decision to go to eating disorder treatment. I highly recommend Libby for anyone seeking counseling services."
